The ‘Ingredients of the Year’ Contest is an annual event, held within alongside the Ingredients Russia exhibition and organised by ITE Group plc and the Union of Food Ingredients Producers.
The contest includes the following categories:

Innovative Product:
- Development. New food ingredients developed in Russia or abroad within the last two years and destined for introduction into the Russian market.
- Production. New food ingredients developed within the last three years and present on the Russian market.
- Distribution. New food ingredients produced and developed within the last three years outside Russia, but distributed in the Russian market.
- Implementation. Food products developed within the last three years and produced in Russia, in which ingredients (food or biologically-active additives, flavours or artificial additives) are used for the first time.

Innovative Technology:
New technologies in food production using food ingredients developed within last three years and implemented by Russian companies. -
Best presentation:
The best presentation of a new technology at the Ingredients Russia Forum. -
Best publication:
The best manual, reference book, monograph or series of articles dedicated to food ingredients, published within the last two years and popular with trade professionals. -
Special nomination:
Awarded for having a significant impact on the development of the domestic food ingredient industry or scientific research within the last 5 years.
Contest awards:
Winners are awarded with gold and silver medals and diplomas, in accordance with the protocol of the panel of judges. Competition winners have the right to display the competition logo and winner’s medal on their product labelling.
